Legalise and Attest your South African Documents at the Vietnam embassy

Document attestation at the Vietnam Embassy is essential for those planning to move, work, or conduct business in Vietnam. Our services include attesting various documents for individuals getting married, applying for residency or family visas, pursuing business opportunities, or seeking medical treatment in Vietnam. Ensure your documents are properly attested for a smooth and hassle-free experience in Vietnam.

Vietnam Embassy attestation ensures that your documents are verified and accepted by Vietnamese authorities. This crucial process provides an additional level of validation, making your documents legally recognized and ready for official use in Vietnam.

Although the Vietnam embassy attestation process is very quick and efficient (they provide a same day service for a small extra fee), the actual process of getting your documents attested for vietnam can take many months. This is because all documents have to get a DIRCO certificate of authentication first, which takes 6-8 weeks at the moment. In addition, the process to get degrees at SAQA authenticated before being sent to DIRCO can take 4-6 weeks, so it is essential to plan ahead and manage your timelines properly, especially if you are also working with time limited documents like Police Clearances or Letter of No Impediment (single status letters)

Vietnam Embassy Attestation

Vietnam is not part of the Hague Apostille Convention and will not accept documents that have been apostilled at DIRCO. Instead, DIRCO will issue a Certificate of Authentication for documents intended for Vietnam that certifies that the signature on the document is from a recognised official at a South African government department.

Documents that have been notarised and then apostilled at a High Court also have to be sent to DIRCO to have this Certificate of Authentication added before they can be attested at the Vietnam embassy

More Information

Document attestation at the Vietnam Embassy can be a complex and time-consuming process. Most documents require initial legalization at DIRCO with a Certificate of Authentication before being sent to the embassy for the attestation stamp. This procedure is mandatory for most official government documents or those verified by the government, including but not limited to:

  • Unabridged Birth Certificates
  • Unabridged Marriage Certificates
  • Police Clearance Certificates
  • Letters of No Impediment to Marriage
  • SAQA verified academic degrees
  • Umalusi verified matric certificates
  • HPCSA verified medical certificates

Certain documents require notarisation and an apostille at a High Court before being sent to DIRCO for a Certificate of Authentication. These verification and authentication steps can be time-consuming, so planning ahead is crucial to obtaining your Vietnam attested documents in time. The DIRCO authentication process can take 6-8 weeks.

A common mistake is getting documents apostilled at DIRCO or assuming a High Court apostille is enough, which can cause delays of several months. Following the correct steps from the start is essential to avoid delays.

We provide expert assistance with every step of the process, ensuring timely completion and peace of mind.
